Description
Hen Dy'r Ysgol is a two-storey former schoolhouse built from whitewashed rubble with slate roofs and rubble chimney stacks, including one on the right gable end at the front. The building features overhanging boarded eaves and has a symmetrical three-bay front with horned four-pane sash windows. A large gabled dormer is situated in the center, although its front is faced with modern boarding that is out of character with the rest of the building. Below the dormer is a slate plaque.
In the center, there is a painted brick gabled porch with a cambered arch entrance, which has a boarded outer door and a modern glazed inner door. To the left, slightly set back and stepped down, is a rubble outhouse with boarded doors. The right side of the building is splayed to follow the line of the road and includes a two-window cross range with an attic gable and a tiny window to its left under the eaves. Additionally, there is a projecting chimney breast on the southeast gable end and a small pane casement window at the rear.
