Description

Ysgol Llandwrog is a simple Gothic-style building dating from the 19th century. It features a long central section with equal-height gabled wings projecting to the south at each end. The exterior is made of irregularly coursed rubblestone set on a continuous chamfered plinth, with tooled ashlar lintels and quoining around the windows and doors. The roof is slate with coped verges.

The symmetrical front has a layout of 1:5:1 bays. The central bays contain three 20th-century windows in their original openings, flanked by small gabled projections that are slightly recessed from the main gabled ranges. The right projection has a Tudor-arched doorway, while the left has a narrow window. Above the central window is a steep gabled structure resembling a bellcote, which displays the Wynn family coat-of-arms and a much-worn date of "185?" in Roman numerals.

The main projecting gables feature large multi-paned windows at the front, which were partly boarded over at the time of the survey. Above these windows are blind narrow rectangular panels, topped by narrow decorative brick chimney stacks with corbelled stone bases. There are also larger ridge stacks to the left and right of the main range. At the rear, an asymmetrically-roofed two-storey range projects towards the road.

The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey.
