Description
The Old Board School at Llawrybettws is a tall, single-storeyed rectangular former school hall. It is built from local rubble, originally rendered, and features an old slate roof with a tiled ridge. The building has plain bargeboards and projecting verges on the right gable, along with modern wire netting. Each side of the building has three segmentally-arched windows with projecting sills and rough-dressed voussoirs, adorned with labels made of narrow stones in the local style. The right gable end includes a shallow projecting chimney with a reduced stack and a segmentally-arched, deeply-recessed entrance on the left. There is also a single arched window on the left gable, similar to the others. At the time of the survey, all openings were boarded up.
Although the interior was not inspected during the survey, it is noted to have a King Post and tie beam roof.
