Description
The Sibieski Wynne Monument, located in the churchyard of the Church of St Catrin, is a Grade II listed sandstone monument designed in the form of a Celtic high cross. It features three steps leading up to a splayed die, which has a chamfered top between end knobs and supports a tall tapered ring-headed cross. The front and back faces of the monument are adorned with three panels of interlace knotwork, while the narrow sides display a continuous elongated rectangular guilloche. The cross head is similarly decorated, with the arms enhanced by small panels of interlace. The base of the monument is inscribed with the following text: "I Ogoniant Duw / cyfonwyd ar ddymuniad / Caroline Sibieski, merch. / John Wynne, o'r Garthmeilig / Gweddw y parch. John Lynes / o Hatton Warwick / AD 1886."
