Description
Goetre Farmhouse, with an attached farm building, is constructed of local stone rubble and features an old irregular-sized slate roof with an off-centre stack. The original house likely consists of the three-window range closest to the farm building, which was extended, probably in the 19th century, by an additional two window bays beyond the gable stack, complete with a large brick stack. The main entrance has a modern part-glazed door that is centrally located in the original section, flanked by four-pane sash windows. Above, there are nine-pane sashes, with the central window slightly offset to the left. The left section includes a doorway with a twelve-pane sash window to the left and two nine-pane sashes above. The rear of the house features modern windows.
The attached farm building runs parallel to the house and consists of three bays, possibly built as a lofted cowhouse with a granary above. It has two boarded doors with a ventilation slit between them and a small window to the right. Inside, there are two trusses with lapped collars that support two tiers of purlins, and the soffit of the slate battens is torched. An incised figure "38" is upside down on one of the collars.
The main living room of the farmhouse has a heavy chamfered cross beam, which supports a spine beam on one side. There are no other notable historic features within the interior.
