Description

The Cowhouse Range at Plas-gwyn is a 19th-century building located on the northeast side of a square farmyard, separated from the stable and granary by a driftway. It is long and low, constructed from squared rubble with a slated roof. The building is single-storey with lofts, featuring boarded doors and ventilation windows. At the southeast end, there is a cart house with a long stone lintel. An external stair at this end leads up to a loft that is illuminated by a simple window above the cart house entrance.

Inside, the roof structure includes trusses with a tie, tall queen posts that frame a central walkway, and angle struts, supported by two tiers of purlins.
