Description
3 Castle Street is a Georgian town house featuring a roughcast front wall and a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a three-window range on the lower storey, which includes a group of three inserted four-pane sash windows with a sill band. To the left of these windows is a doorway framed by a fluted doorcase with a shallow moulded canopy supported by console brackets. The panelled door, which is accessed by steps, has a small-pane overlight above it. To the right of the main entrance is a low boarded door, and a former basement window has been replaced by a metal grille.
The middle storey is fitted with late 19th-century four-pane sash windows, while the upper storey features six-pane horned sash windows, both storeys having sill bands. Although not inspected, it is reported by RCAHM Wales that the interior consists of two rooms on the lower storey, each with back-to-back fireplaces positioned across the corner of the rooms, and a full-height dog-leg stair with turned balusters and pendants. Additionally, there are slate conduits in the basement.
