Description
Bronwydd is a two-storey house built from battered rock-faced red stone, with the upper floor rendered and whitewashed. It features slate roofs with axial and lateral stacks. The house is single room wide and has nine bedrooms, with the main reception rooms located at the southwest end and a narrower service wing aligned at the northeast. The lower gables create slight wings at each end of the main range, though they are asymmetrical.
The entrance has a panelled door with a suspended canopy, and there is a part-external stack for the dining room to the right. The windows are timber, paned, and placed irregularly, with those on the upper floor positioned close to the eaves. To the left of the entrance, there is a double transomed window leading to the stair. The dining room features a canted bay on the rear (southeast) side, with the roof extended to create a sheltered porch over French doors. Some windows are small-paned casements, with some including transoms. A two-storey square bay window with leaded glazing projects from the end elevation, providing light to the drawing room.
Inside, the entrance hall leads to a lateral dog-leg stair, with a smoking room located opposite. The dining room includes a tiled chimneypiece, and various joinery details such as chair rails and dados are preserved, along with patterned leadwork in the windows.
