Description

The sculpture of a lion is located on the west side of the north entrance to Britannia Bridge. This large lion, measuring 25 feet 6 inches (7.77 meters) long and 12 feet 8 inches (3.86 meters) high, is designed in a bold Egyptian style and is made from 11 pieces of Penmon limestone. The lion faces south and rests on an ashlar limestone plinth, which is set atop a plinth made of rock-faced sandstone.
