Description

The lion statue, located in Kedleston Park, dates from around 1760 to 1770. The pedestal was designed by Samuel Wyatt, while the statue itself, depicting a Medicean lion with a raised forepaw resting on a ball, was created by Joseph Wilton. The pedestal is made of ashlar and features a moulded plinth, sunk panels adorned with circular garlands on the long sides, and a dentil cornice.
