Description

This is a late 18th century milestone associated with the turnpike road that was first established in the 1790s. It is made from roughly-shaped round-headed slate stone and is set into a rubblestone roadside boundary wall. The stone is inscribed with the following: "C. CURIG/ 8 M. 5 1/2F./ CARNARVON/ 9 M."
