Description
19 Bridge Street is a shop with a dwelling above, built in the 19th century and featuring 2½ storeys with a 2-window front in a free classical style. The front is roughcast and includes stressed quoin strips, some of which are partly missing. It has a slate roof with bracketed eaves and a shared brick stack on the right. The original shop front has been removed, but part of its fascia remains behind a later 20th-century shop front. The upper storey features a sill band and eared and lugged architraves with keystones, framing 4-pane horned sash windows. Below the attic storey windows is a blank inscription band. There are two round-headed half dormers with 4-pane horned sash windows, each topped with pronounced keyed moulded heads that have urn finials at the keystones.
At the rear, the building retains 4-pane sashes and includes a basement storey due to the sharp drop in the ground level.
