Description

This is a late Victorian classical style shop with a dwelling above, built in the late 19th century. It is three and a half storeys high with a four-window front. The walls are roughcast, and the roof is slate with roughcast stacks at the ends. The upper floors have windows arranged in pairs, and the attic is treated with a segmental pediment. The windows are four-pane horned sashes. On the middle floor, the windows are set within moulded architraves, connected by a shared sill. The upper floor has a sill band supported by fluted brackets, and the windows have their own moulded architraves. A deep, moulded eaves cornice features corbelled and gabled end panels. The attic storey has three stepped sash windows, incorporated into the central pediment. The central window is larger and has four panes, while the outer two have two panes, all within moulded architraves. The verge of the pediment is stepped with scrolled sides, leading to an open segmental pediment. A balustraded parapet flanks the attic windows, featuring square balusters over blank panels and plain terminal piers. The lower storey has a late 20th-century shop front with a central door and overlight, plate glass windows above plain stallboards, and a deep fascia. The rear elevation is also roughcast, with a plain stepped parapet, and retains some late 19th-century sash windows.
