Efail Pont y Gof

Efail Pont y Gof is a single-storey cottage built from squared rubble stone, arranged in large coursed blocks. The roof is covered with small slates laid in diminishing courses, featuring stone end stacks with caps that have a simple oversailing course and water tabling at the base. The cottage has a whitewashed, symmetrical south front with a boarded and half-glazed door in the center, flanked by 16-pane sash windows with thin slate sills. There is a small single-light window in the east gable for the loft.

The attached smithy has a door that opens in two halves and a window to the left with a 10-pane upper light and boarded lower section. A stone lean-to on the west gable has a similarly sized opening, which is now blocked, and features an iron rail.

Inside, the cottage entry leads directly into the kitchen, where the ceiling is floored at the collar. The floor is primarily earth, now largely concreted, and there is a blocked fireplace opening along with a side cupboard. A central boarded partition includes a door leading to a downstairs bedroom, while above, in the upper partition, there is a door to the croggloft. The interior of the smithy shows that the forge has been removed, and another doorway in the back wall opposite the entry creates a through-passage. The lean-to, now empty, previously housed bellows.
