Description
The Coach House and Stables at Plas Gelliwig is a two-storey structure built from uncoursed rubble stone, topped with a slate roof that features two small skylights on the south side. The west gable includes a rectangular bellcote with a rectangular opening capped by a stone lintel (the bell has been removed) and an external stone stair with a wrought iron rail. There is a boarded loft door as well.
On the south front, there is a large off-centre entry for the coach house, which has double doors and a three-centred arch made of stone voussoirs. To the left, there is a cartshed opening with a flat head supported by a 20th-century steel lintel. To the right, a doorway features a depressed arch with stone voussoirs and a boarded door, followed by a metal casement window that has delicate hexagonal-paned glazing. A similar window is located in the centre of the upper storey, although one light is boarded up.
