Description
The main entrance to the Normal College, built in a set-back style, features octagonal ashlar gate piers topped with ball finials above cornices. The bases of the piers have spurs, and the driveway is paved with stone setts leading to double gates. Attached to the entrance are rubble walls with freestone coping that create quadrant-shaped wings on either side. These walls slope down to form boundary walls that extend to the left towards the entrance of Athrolys, which has similar gate piers without cornices, and to the right towards the entrance of Neuadd John Phillips, again featuring similar gate piers.
