Athroly's (Normal College)

Athroly's, also known as Normal College, is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring a five-bay front made of cement render facing southwest. It has a slate roof with swept boarded eaves and cement render chimney stacks, one of which is off centre. The central bay is taller and projects forward, showcasing a hipped roof, a crenellated parapet, splayed corners, and pedimented pilaster buttresses. The first floor has two windows that are linked by hoodmoulds and flanked by a coat of arms. The main entrance is located on the southeast side of this central bay, featuring an arched headed doorway with a dropped keystone and a two-panel door beneath a lettered plaque. The windows throughout the building are small pane leaded casements of various widths. The chimney breasts are advanced at the gable ends, with pronounced kneelers above tapered corner pilasters that rise to the first floor cill level.

The northeast elevation is asymmetrical and resembles those of the hostels, featuring a raised central gable above two-storey bay windows with extended glazing on the ground floor. There are small outbuildings at the northwest end, along with a short section of wall that terminates at a ball finial.
