Description
The entrance gates, piers, and walling at Cors y Gedol Hall date from the 19th century. The main entrance features double gates made of alternating tall and short vertical rails, which have shaped finials and horizontal rails at the lower stile. The flanking gatepiers are square in plan and built from dressed, coursed stone, topped with advanced capping and globe finials. Curved walling extends towards the road and is finished with identical piers. The low walling is made of mortared rubble masonry with raking coping, topped with railings that have arrowhead finials. On either side of the driveway leading to the rear of the main entrance, there are stretches of low rubble walling with roughly embattled coping, which serve as the garden walls for the flanking lodges. At the ends of these walls are square gatepiers made of roughly coursed rubble masonry, featuring stepped rough slab coping and also topped with globe finials.
