Description
The building is a stable with a granary, cartshed, and farmyard entrance piers located at Penychain. It extends along the south range west of the main farmyard entrance and features a two-bay stable at the west end. At the north end, there is a ty-bach positioned at the angle with the boundary wall of the yard, along with large gatepiers that flank the driftway leading into the fields to the west. The carthouse consists of two bays that are open to the yard and includes an external stone stair at the east end that leads up to the granary above. The west stable range has two large openings, and the square gatepiers are topped with a stone quasi-cornice. Outside, just south of the gateway and beyond the main enclosed yard to the west, there is a small rick yard that is surrounded by stone walls.
