Description
The Unicorn is an elegant classical building with stuccoed elevations, dating back to an unspecified period. It primarily consists of a single-storey, flat-roofed cottage elevated above an arcaded basement, creating the appearance of a more substantial two-storey villa thanks to its impressive symmetrical facade. This facade features seven bays, with the central three bays projecting forward and adorned with a moulded pediment and full-height pilasters that define the bay divisions. The principal floor has elegant 15-pane sash windows, with the central bay featuring a balcony and a decorative mermaid balustrade. The four outer wings have sash windows with applied circular plaques above them. The building also has rusticated quoins at the corners and projecting keys and imposts above the arcade arches. Inside the pediment, there is a relief crest of a unicorn.
