Description
Mynydd Ednyfed Fawr is a three-storey building with a three-window main range and a lower rear wing. It features a rendered exterior over rubble, which is roughly coursed where exposed in the rear wall, and has a slate roof with end wall stacks. The central doorway is set in an added porch, with a partly glazed door and a lozenge-shaped overlight. Flanking the entrance are 12-pane sash windows, with narrower 9-pane sashes in the attic storey. Above the first-floor window, there is a date stone inscribed with the initials M.W over O and the inscription, "Built by the Rev. Wm Evans A.D. 1796. Heb Dduw Heb Ddim Dduw Digon." The lower rear wing has a doorway towards the angle with the main range, paired 4-pane sash windows on the ground floor, and 2x2-light casements below the eaves, along with a high end wall stack.
Inside, there is a central stair hall featuring a turned baluster stair that rises through two storeys. Originally, the space on either side of the stair hall was divided between a large principal room and a smaller parlour or service room, alternating in placement. The rear wing contains a large fireplace with a recess alongside it, which may have originally been intended for a ladder or staircase.
