Description
The barn at Crugan Farm is a 19th-century structure made of green crystalline stone with galletted joints and topped with a corrugated iron roof. It features four bays, with opposing doors located in the second bay from the southwest end, and projecting stones flanking the main door leading to the farmyard. There are three slit windows, which are now filled in. The barn extends to the northeast as a three-bay cowhouse, which has a single door to the yard that is now obscured by later buildings.
The original roof trusses of the barn have been replaced with sawn timber trusses that follow the general design of the original. The extension to the east retains two original collar trusses, with the principals crossed and pegged at the apex. Stalls are present at each end of the building.
