Description

Llwyn Celyn and Hendref are a pair of three-storey houses that form a three-bay range, with the central bay slightly projecting forward. The buildings are constructed of limestone ashlar with channelled rustication on the lower storey, topped by a slate roof with a moulded stone cornice, skylights, and pebble-dashed stacks at the ends. The entrances are located in the inner bay and feature panelled doors with an overlight above. The outer bays include bay windows with wooden mullions and transoms. A lean-to veranda, added in the early 20th century, spans the entire front and has a tiled roof supported by turned wooden posts and a balustrade, with a gable in the centre.

In the middle and upper storeys, the outer bays have paired two-pane sash windows, while the central bay has two single similar sashes. The upper storey also features a sill band. The right gable end of Llwyn Celyn is pebble-dashed and has four-pane horned sashes on the right side. The left gable end of Hendref is similarly pebble dashed. At the rear, there is a central, lower three-storey gabled wing that has four-pane horned sashes for Llwyn Celyn and replacement windows for Hendref.

Inside, a vestibule with double panelled doors leads to the stair hall, which features an open-well staircase with turned balusters and newels, as well as panelled tread ends.
