Description
Hendref is a pair of three-storey houses, built in the 18th century, that form a three-bay range with the central bay slightly projecting forward. The houses are constructed of limestone ashlar with channelled rustication on the lower storey and feature a slate roof with a moulded stone cornice, skylights, and pebble-dashed stacks at each end. The entrances are located in the inner bay and consist of panelled doors topped with overlights. The outer bays are adorned with bay windows that have wooden mullions and transoms. A lean-to veranda, added in the early 20th century, spans the entire front and features a tiled roof supported by turned wooden posts and a balustrade, with a gable at the centre.
In the middle and upper storeys, the outer bays have paired two-pane sash windows, while the central bay has two single similar sashes. The upper storey is distinguished by a sill band. The right gable end, which belongs to Llwyn Celyn, is pebble-dashed and has four-pane horned sashes on the right side. The left gable end, Hendref, is also pebble-dashed. At the rear, there is a central, lower three-storey gabled wing with four-pane horned sashes for Llwyn Celyn and replacement windows for Hendref. The property has not been inspected.
