Description
Pilot House is a two-and-a-half-storey, three-window house. It likely dates from the 18th century, though its precise age is not specified. The exterior is roughcast, painted white, with a steep slate roof. A roughcast chimney stack stands to the left (behind Glan y Don), and another lateral roughcast stack is located behind it to the right. The entrance is offset to the left of the centre and features a half-lit panelled door protected by a simple slate canopy supported by plain corbels. Most windows are 12-pane hornless sash windows; however, the right side has a two-storey canted bay window with replacement 12-pane horned sashes.
The rear of the house features a two-storey wing added to the left side, and a single-storey lean-to on the right side. A central dormer has been filled in, and a gabled dormer is located on the right side.
A room to the right of the entrance has a fireplace with a replacement surround. A simple straight staircase, featuring a plain newel and balusters, leads to a first-floor landing and a sitting room. The windows in this sitting room retain panelled reveals. The roof structure consists of five trusses, four of which retain cambered collar beams.
