Description
Victoria Cottages consists of two single-storey houses, Nos 1 and 2, designed with a symmetrical layout. The front elevation features a 1-2-1 bay arrangement, with a central section that includes attics and wide hipped roofed wings that project at either end. The cottages are constructed from rubble with limestone dressings and a plinth. The hipped roof is covered with large slates arranged in diminishing courses, featuring projecting eaves and verges. There are dressed octagonal stone stacks, three on each end of the central part.
The entrance is marked by a central gabled porch with a 4-centred voussoir arch. The lower storey has paired 8-pane sash windows with deep stone lintels and slate sills, while the attic storey includes gabled dormers that break the eaves line, featuring 2-light, 6-pane side-hung casements. The hipped roofed wings have 2-light, 8-pane sash windows, and the entrance on the return elevation is accessed through a flat-roofed porch with a 4-centred voussoir arch. At the rear, there are two lean-to former kitchens.
