Description
Ty-newydd is a single-storey vernacular croglofft cottage, featuring a wing on the right (southeast) and a brick-built lean-to at the far right end. The cottage is constructed from local rubble masonry and is limewashed. It has a slate roof with a tiled ridge and coping, and rendered rectangular gable stacks with capping. The building has a two-window range with a central doorway. The windows are 4-pane horned sashes with slate sills and stone lintels, and there is a similarly detailed window on the southeast wing. A small loft light is located at the front of the left (northwest) gable return, while there are no openings at the rear of the range. The lean-to addition features a door offset to the left (northwest) and casement windows along the southeast wall. The interior was not inspected during the survey.
