Description

Point of Ayr Lighthouse is a three-storeyed tower made of whitewashed rendered brick that tapers upwards from a black plinth and is now slightly leaning. The top of the structure features a red-domed lantern with wrought-iron plates and vertical glazing bars, along with a railed walkway that projects on moulded corbels. Above the basement level, there is a round-headed doorway. Each storey is fitted with wide segmental-headed windows. The optic has been removed.
