Description
The Look-out Tower is a circular tower that is slightly tapered, rendered, and painted white. A small gap in the rendering reveals the original stone rubble, which was limewashed. The tower has a flat roof made of concrete, supported internally by cast iron piers on the seaward side. This side features four large glazed viewing panels that have been replaced. There are two protruding ledges at eye level on each side, the purpose of which is unknown. On the upper floor to the right, there is a small recessed light that appears unaltered and faces towards the town. At the rear, there are doors on each level with iron lintels, and the ground floor has a keystone and a large stone step. A timber flight of steps leads to the first floor. The roof is equipped with sea guidance lights and flag poles.
