Description
Jennings Warehouse is a large two-storey building, measuring 15 bays long and 5 bays wide. It is constructed of limestone rubble with stone and brick dressings, although some of these have been replaced with concrete. The rear (west and south) sides are rendered, and the building features a hipped slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles and inserted skylights. Currently, all openings are boarded up.
The first floor has regularly spaced window openings, most of which have cambered arched heads with brick voussoirs, dressed stone surrounds, and sills. The ground floor facing the harbour (east) includes six remodelled square-headed windows and three large segmental arched openings that were once loading bays. The frontage facing the inner dock (north) has one segmental arched doorway at ground level and previously had two segmental arched openings between the two storeys, one of which has been remodelled. The town frontage (west) features chimneys, while the breakwater frontage (south) has large double doors that have been inserted.
Access to the interior is currently closed due to repairs and conversion, as of March 1997.
