Description
Folly Tower at Talacre Abbey is a two-stage tower constructed from rubble-stone walls, partly built on exposed bedrock. The tower is currently in a ruinous condition and is obscured by vegetation. The main pointed doorway is located in the north wall, while the east wall features a doorway that leads to stairs going up to the upper stage. On the west side, there is a shallow projection with a second doorway at the lower stage, along with an attached wall.
The upper stage has large openings in the north and west walls, and a smaller opening in the east wall. Inside the lower stage, there is a shell room that includes a fireplace and a bench, with the walls adorned with shells and quartz. The projection on the west side also includes side benches.
