Description
The terrace on the north side of Talacre Abbey is a raised structure made of ashlar and supported by an arcade of Tudor arches. It features five buttressed bays on the north side and wraps around the northwest corner of the house with a seven-sided buttressed and arcaded projection in front of the conservatory. The parapet has moulded saddleback coping, and opposite the conservatory doorway, there is a corbelled pinnacle on the outer parapet face, which is either cut down or left unfinished. Stone steps on the south side of the conservatory lead to a wall walk that encloses the service courtyard at the rear of the house. On the northeast side, the terrace continues with a quarter turn that includes two flights of steps leading to the garden. At the base of these steps are terminal octagonal piers topped with bell-shaped capitals.
