217-219 High Street, Linlithgow

This building, located at 217-219 High Street in Linlithgow, dates from the mid-19th century and consists of a pair of two-storey and attic, three-bay tenements with shops on the ground floor. The northern elevation features painted rubble, with base and eaves courses and raised painted margins on the first floor.

The entrance elevation includes two fanlit two-leaf doors at the center, flanked by shop windows, and three symmetrical windows on the first floor. There is a mutual pend to the left of No 221.

The southern rear elevation has a two-storey wing. The ground floor windows are fitted with fixed plate glass, while the first floor features plate glass sash and case windows. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes decorated cast-iron gutter brackets. There are single slate-hung piended dormers at both the far right and left, along with rendered stacks at the gables and in the center.
