Description

Sir John James Burnet (Burnet & Son) 1885, large snecked rubble mansionhouse on picturesque hillside site. Main block large square flat-roofed 2 storey and basement mass raised a stage as broad low tower at SW angle. Very severe simple treatment with some early Renaissance detail. SE angel splayed, treated as corner bay with pedimented windows.

Parapet balustraded, regrettably largely replaced by solid Fyfestone parapet 1976; interesting arched entrance porch on W entrance elevation, squat columns with sculptured capitals of American Romanesque derivation; lower 2-storey NW wing with slated roof forming L-plan forecourt.
