Craft Shop, Lamlash

The Craft Shop in Lamlash, attributed to Sir John James Burnet, is a late 19th-century building. It is a single-storey structure with an attic, featuring a rectangular plan on a corner site. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar dressings and has a slate roof that sweeps down to the eaves. The ground floor has replacement plate glass windows that do not match the original character of the building. The first floor showcases half-timbered gables with canted windows beneath deep eaves, single and two-pane sash windows at the bottom, and multi-pane windows at the top, along with plain bargeboards. The front elevation includes a tripartite multi-pane cat-slide dormer, a single multi-pane swept dormer, and a modern box dormer on the side elevation, with bracketted eaves.

On the front elevation, there is a two-leaf boarded door flanked by single windows on the left, with a gable above, and a single window on the right, along with a dormer. The side elevation, built on sloping ground, features a two-leaf boarded door flanked by single windows on the left, with slightly different timber detailing compared to the front elevation, and a 20-leaf boarded goods opening to the right, flanked by windows with security bars, along with two dormers. The interior has not been seen.
