Description
Gallowhill is a mid 19th century single-storey cottage with a symmetrical, rectangular plan that has been made L-shaped by an addition. It is constructed from sandstone rubble with harl pointing and features sandstone margins and advanced eaves.
On the main elevation, there is a centrally located door that is a two-leaf boarded type with a letterbox fanlight above it, and the gable breaks above this entrance. Flanking the door are windows. At the rear, there is a modern flat-roofed addition.
The roof is covered with graded grey slate and includes lead flashings. There are coped sandstone ridge stacks with octagonal cans.
