Description
Milton Of Ballachlaggan is a traditional single storey and attic cottage dating from the early to mid 19th century. It features a three-bay layout and is constructed from pink and grey granite rubble, topped with a corrugated iron roof. The cottage is situated in an isolated rural location and includes a timber gabled porch.
The principal elevation faces south and has 4-pane timber sash and case windows. There are small 4-pane timber windows in the gables for the attic, and a low central window at the rear. The cottage is also adorned with gable stacks that have thackstones.
The interior was not seen during the visit in January 2006, but it is believed to contain original box beds, tongue and groove panelling, and iron grates.
