Description
St Margaret's Cottage is a single-storey and attic cottage dating from around 1800, part of a row of three. The cottage is harled and features a grey slate roof with terracotta ridge tiles. The front has four-pane timber sash and case windows with narrow painted margins, large gabled dormers, and a modern door at the center with a narrow-margined painted doorcase. There are two windows on either side of the door and two dormers above. The rear elevation includes four windows and a rooflight.
Inside, the walls and ceilings are boarded almost throughout, and there are early chimneypieces, including one with an adjoining salt box. The east gable has ashlar-coped skews and a stack, while the west gable has a brick stack. The cottage also features cast-iron rainwater goods.
