Description
The Old Smokehouse, located at 18 Skateraw Road, Newtownhill, is probably of late 18th century origin and was originally connected to other buildings. It is constructed of rubble with squared quoins visible at the right gable, and the entire structure is heavily painted. A door is positioned on the left side, and there is one small window at both the front and rear. A new gable has been added to the left side. The roof is corrugated iron, with a kiln vent at the right gable, where kiln remains are also present. The building is listed due to its rarity.
