Description
The Commemorative Fountain, located at the corner of Braemar Road and Invercauld Road, was built in 1898. This decorative fountain is inspired by classical design and stands out in the streetscape due to its striking pink and grey polished granite. It features a tiered square-plan plinth with corner pilasters and pediment detail, along with four columns that flank an urn. At the top, there is an oversized dome adorned with fleur-de-lis incised detailing and a crown finial. The fountain includes two urn-shaped water bowls on the north and south sides, and there is a carved inscription on one side.
