Description
Aspen Lodge Summerhouse, built in the late 19th century, is a distinctive summerhouse with a square plan, featuring both vertically and horizontally timber boarded gables. It is located in an elevated corner of a private garden. The base course is weatherboarded. The northern elevation has a gabled entrance adorned with decorative timber bargeboards and an entrance door that includes wide sidelights. This gable is flanked by small square corner turrets topped with swept pyramidal slated roofs. On the southern elevation, there is a canted bay window.
Inside, the summerhouse is timber lined, and there is evidence of diamond leaded-panes still in place. The roof is covered with graded grey slate, and decorative red finial details add to its charm.
