Description

This is a two-storey, three-bay house dated 1848, formerly a manse. It is constructed of coursed rubble masonry with red sandstone quoins. The house has a three-window front. The central doorcase features pilasters and an anta doorpiece bearing the date 1848, set within the architraves. The roof is gabled, with a piended (hipped) section between the end stacks, and is covered in slate. All windows have lying-pane glazing, and there are chimneys at each end. Ewing’s Annals of the Free Church provides additional information on page 128.
