Description
This is a pair of late 18th-century buildings on Main Street, Thornhill, standing as numbers 37 and 39. Number 37 is a two-storey building, originally with two bays, but altered. It is harled with painted margins. The original doorway is on the right-hand side, and the window to the left has been enlarged and gabled, projecting above the eaves. Number 39 is a three-bay, symmetrical building with a central doorway and two windows on the first floor. It features straight skews and an end and axial stack. The roof is covered in slate. This property is recognised as holding group value, contributing to the character of Thornhill.
