It is designed in a Free Neo-Jacobean style and is a large, two-storey villa constructed from snecked rubble. The villa features an advanced left-hand gable with a canted bay that has a cavetto-corbelled square, along with gablets above the advanced entrance and right-hand bays. The windows have semi-elliptical shapes and are adorned with hoodmoulds. The Gladstone Place frontage is asymmetrical and includes octagonal-shafted chimneys on the first floor. The roof is slated.
