Description
Carlton House is a mid-Victorian, two-storey and basement detached villa with an ashlar front. It features end canted bays and a central porch supported by Del'Orme Ionic columns, which shelters a round arched doorway with railed steps. Above this, there is an arched window on the first floor framed by panelled pilasters, and the basement is channel-pilastered with end pilasters. The villa has a piended slated roof. There are flanking screen walls and gateways with up-swept copes and channelled gatepiers. To the east, there is a single-storey and loft stable block, also with a slated roof, which is now partly used as a garage and partly for domestic purposes.
