4 Kirk Road, Dalserf

4 Kirk Road in Dalserf is an early 18th-century house that has undergone later alterations and additions. It is a two-storey, three-bay rectangular building featuring a high rubble wall on the left and a lean-to rubble shed on the right. The exterior is made of cream sandstone rubble with painted ashlar margins and includes an eaves course.

On the northwest, or principal elevation, there is a replacement architraved timber door in the central bay at ground level, with a window above it on the first floor. Each of the flanking bays has a window on both floors. To the outer right, there is a boarded door leading to the shed wall, which is slightly recessed.

The southeast, or rear elevation, features a semicircular stair projection in the central bay with a high-set window. The bay to the right has a window on each floor and a roof light above. The bay to the left contains replacement narrow windows on both floors, while three evenly spaced windows are located on the shed to the outer left.

The southwest and northeast side elevations are blank walls, each with a gablehead stack above. The house has four-pane timber sash and case windows, although some modern uPVC replacements are found at the rear. The roof is covered with grey slate and includes modern flush roof lights, ashlar coped stacks, ashlar skews, and cast-iron rainwater goods.

The interior has not been seen in the main house, but it features exposed and replaced rafters and beams, along with a brick-lined wall on the southeast side.
