Description

1 Wellgate in Lanark is a building from 1836 featuring a two-storey projecting corner block. It is constructed of painted stucco and has three central bays, with one bay in each recessed curved angle and one on each return. The centre has a pilastered shop front topped with a cornice, although it has a modern fascia. Above this, there is a band course. The ground floor windows have all been enlarged, while the first floor has three blind windows at the centre. There is a string course above with a frieze, a cornice blocking course, and a central wallhead stack. The roof is piended and covered with slate.
