Description

56 Castlegate in Lanark is an earlier 19th-century, two-storey terrace house featuring four windows. The building is constructed of snecked rubble with droved ashlar dressings and quoins. The ground floor has an irregular arrangement of four windows and two off-centre doors. The first floor consists of four windows, all with lying-pane glazing. The house has straight skews and a slate roof. Notably, number 56 includes a rear stair turret.
