Description

53 and 55 Castlegate in Lanark is an earlier 19th century, two-storey, three-bay house. It is constructed of coursed rubble with droved ashlar dressings and quoins. The central door is flanked by windows, and there are three windows on the first floor. The house features straight skews, corniced end stacks, and a slate roof. The south gable end has one blocked window at ground level.
