Description
Fernhill School is a large, asymmetrical two-storey villa built in the late 19th century, now serving as a school. The building features ashlar stonework, gables adorned with decorative timber trusses, and deep-eaved slate roofs with ridging tiles.
The north front includes an inner range with two gabled bays, which contain an entrance and large arched windows. The roof slopes down to the left and has a gable on the right. There are gabled ranges on either side, with the left side recessed and the right side advanced. The villa is topped with prominent corniced stacks. Inside, the building boasts a decorative interior with extensive timber and plaster work.
